As we build the ultimate free browser-based motion graphics platform, we realized that sometimes removing features is just as important as adding them. In version 0.3.6, we focused entirely on reliability, user trust, and search engine optimization. We stripped away the gimmicks so you can get straight to creating.
Here is what we changed and why.
Actions Speak Louder Than Roadmaps
We have completely removed the "Live Roadmap" section from the site, including its UI cards, admin controls, and database backend.
Why? Because displaying half-finished features or future promises can erode trust. If you are looking for a reliable motion design tool, you want to see what works today. By removing the dynamically loading roadmap widget (which also caused layout shifts and hurt Core Web Vitals), we ensure visitors are greeted with a fully functional, honest storefront of ready-to-use procedural motion templates.
A Cleaner Hero Section & Reliable Theme Switcher
We retired the complex "page peel" and circle animation theme switchers. They were flashy, but they were also prone to breaking and hard to maintain. Now, switching to dark mode is handled by a single, clean, and instant toggle button. The Animdock logo has also been neatly positioned at the top left.
Why? Reliability over flashiness. We want a simple experience that works every single time. More importantly, this cleanup resolved a duplicate heading issue in the Hero section, ensuring search engine bots can perfectly read our static, keyword-rich H1 tags without getting confused by overlapping DOM elements.
Unlocked, Natural Scrolling
Previously, scrolling down the homepage felt rigid because the screen would "snap" and lock into specific sections. We have completely removed this scroll-locking behavior.
Why? We want you to explore the site at your own pace. Natural, free-flowing scrolling drastically reduces user friction and provides a much smoother, native experience—especially for our mobile users.
Live Content Showcase on the Homepage
We have introduced an automated "content hub" directly on the homepage. As soon as you land, you will now see a dynamic list of our 5 most recent articles—whether that is a new tutorial, a glossary definition, or a comparison guide like our "Free After Effects Alternatives."
Why? Two massive benefits. First, it instantly guides new visitors to helpful, educational content. Second, it acts as a powerful SEO signal, automatically showing search engines that the Animdock homepage is constantly updated with rich, fresh content without us having to manually update the code.
Smart, Non-Intrusive Notifications
We added a subtle notification widget in the corner to highlight the latest update (showing the version, title, and a quick summary).
Why? We want to keep our community informed about our rapid shipping pace, but we refuse to be annoying. This notification appears once, delivers the news, and then gets out of your way permanently so you can focus on your generative art and animations.
